Time ran out for me to write a tribute to Superdawg, aka Sadie Dog, on this, her Earth Day birthday. I wound up not having time because I was enlisted to transport my granddaughter Hannah to her Little League baseball game, which turned out to be an exciting 5-4 win for her Cardinals' team. So that was a happy chore, no doubt (and not really a chore at all). However, Sadie the sweet and gentle spirit, who is now 12 years old, deserves to be feted, so that is on my to-do list tomorrow. Twelve years is an advanced age in dog years whether calculated by Common Core math or conventional use of the multiplication tables. A belated Earth-Day birthday is better than no observance at all. So tomorrow it will be celebration time.
